LUIZ CARVALHO
Trainned as an architect, he began his photographic career at the newspaper Primeiro de Janeiro. Over the years he worked in various newspapers, magazines and news agencies, especially O Expresso, where he worked for 25 years as senior photojournalist, photo editor and multimedia editor. He exhibited in Portugal and abroad individually and has received several awards, including the Prémio Visão and Prémio Gazeta de Jornalismo. Published the photo-books Portugueses (1985) and Lisboa e Lisboetas (2000). He collaborated with the Associated Press in Lisbon. He is currently a professor of photography and photojournalism. It was the author and director for four years, of the television series Fotografia Total. Currently he is the author, director and producer of the program Fotobox for the national television (RTP3).

JOÃO LEAL
Professor of Anthropology at FCSH/NOVA and researcher at CRIA (UNL). His current research areas include the history of anthropology in Portugal and the anthropological study of ritual and celebration. He is the author of the books As Festas do Espírito Santo nos Açores. Um Estudo de Antropologia Social (1994), Etnografias Portuguesas (1870-1970). Cultura Popular e Identidade (2000), Antropologia em Portugal. Mestres, Percursos, Transições (2007) and Azorean Identity in Brazil and the United States: Arguments about History, Culture and Transnational Connections (2011).

He has a degree in Art History and a PhD in Information Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid. He was Professor at the University Carlos III in Madrid, and visiting scholar at New York University (USA) and the University of Provence (France). He is the author of Yuri Gagarin y el Conde de Orgaz. Mystica y Estética de la era Espacial (2014), editor of an anthology of texts by José Val del Omar, Escritos de Técnica, Poética y Mística (2010) and co-author with Horacio Fernández of Fotos & Libros. España 1905-1907 (2010). He was commissioner of the exhibition "Ortiz-Echagüe. North Africa "(National Art Museum of Catalonia, Barcelona, 2013) and assistant curator of Desbordamiento del Val del Omar (Madrid, Reina Sofia Museum, 2010). He is currently lecturer at the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra.

MARGARIDA ACCIAIUOLI
Chair of the Art History department at the Nova University (FCSH), and responsible for its PhD program, she is specialized in Portuguese New State History (1933-1974), and published among others, Exposições do Estado Novo 1934-1940 (Livros Horizonte, 1998 ) and António Ferro, a Vertigem da Palavra (Bisâncio, 2013). Also published Os Cinemas de Lisboa: Um Fenómeno Urbano no Séc. XX (Lisboa, Bisâncio, 2012) and Casas com Escritos - Uma História da Habitação em Lisboa (Lisboa, Bisâncio, 2015).
